Yep...but I bet Baker does'nt let him throw 8 of 'em before he pulls him like La Russa did!

Took the 11th hitters before getting ahead on the first pitch, 2 runs on no hits makes the Cardinals playoff totals 8 runs on 6 hits

Unfortunately they will but no need to right now if teams are bending over backwards to hand you runs with minimum effort. They have 6 hits in 12 innings and two of those are a weak bloop to right and a ball that went 80 feet up the line the pitcher picked up late scoring a run from 2nd.

The shadows are about to makes things hard on the hitters so the Nats better make something happen.

Danny Espinosa is killing the Nats early, comes up with back-to-back K's on two of the worst AB I've ever seen.

A tidy little 37-pitch second for Gio. Nice.

Nice take out slide by Desmond to break up the DP and get Gio out of the way this inning.

Nats in serious trouble Wainwright has his A+ curve ball for one of the first times all year and now the Shadows are in play. The need to keep it close and hope they walk into a HR somewhere along the lines.

With no Strasburg and not burning a key starter in WC game the Cardinals have a great rotation match up this series.

This umps zone sucks been off all night but he just called ball 3 in what would be a 3-0 count a strike on Harper after a Werth single. Harper ended up with a K on a full count of a ball a foot outside called a strike has changed the game greatly.

Huh??? It's a 1 run game and Waino's curve is filthy! I see no choke...Atlanta was the choke.

Gio had a game similar to this a few weeks back, also against the cards. Near implosion and gave up 3 runs before settling down next inning and the Nats won. Hasn't settled as much here but it's no EJax outing and, bottom line, they're just a run back. He's thrown a lot of pitches though. Pen will need to come in soon. Need Harper, Zim, LaRoche or Werth to come alive at the plate.

BTW, only my 2nd day here on RZ and didn't realize there was a place to chat about non-Reds games. Love it since I'm DC based and follow the Nats too.
