Bet few expected Gio to outlast Waino the way this game has gone.

Wow he pulled Wainwright here based off a 4 AB sample size vs Bernadina

Bringing Lance Lynn in here is a mistake...the guy gave up more 1st inning runs on the team as a starter! Good shot here for the Nats.

This is big. Two outs but noone works a count like Werth on this team. Very unconventional leadoff hitter. Was a genius stroke when Davey put him there a few months ago. C'mon!

He looked pretty bad there I'm afraid.

Aaarghhh! Werth's not usually a big K guy. It's okay. They can close a 1 or 2 run gap quickly and the guys to do it will be up next. Stammen in from the pen. Pretty reliable innings eater.

Jayson Werth swings on one knee to see the Nats fall to 1-for-6 with RISP. That first strike call was total BS, the Cardinals have got 4 or 5 strike calls on balls 6-8 inches outside while Gio was getting squeezed on most every close pitch out side one called on Descalso to strike him out.

Agreed but not a huge deal. Lineup is potent and more typically last 3 inning producers.

I get the impression that they want no part of Molina....but he's pushing it ahead in the count again.

Molina and Posey are the best catchers in baseball.

You could if you stop beating yourself.
