    I've never understood this comment. That's the best pitch to hit... after a guy has struggled throwing strikes to a couple of hitters, you're almost always going to see a good pitch to drive on the first pitch.

    I'm not feeling too good about this game right now, too many chances squandered already. Hopefully we can take advantage of the pen, and continue to dominate their bats.
    Is it "next season" yet?

    Or swing at a pitch that misses because you're trying too hard to hit something that isn't there. Not sure which was the case here, but Bruce didn't get ahold of it like we'd like.

    No problem swinging at the first pitch, but you better drive it and not pop it up like Bruce did.

    It certainly doesn't mean it will wind up in a good result, but you're a lot more likely to see a hittable strike on that first pitch, and sometimes you can sit dead-red on it too.
