Not hitting much? Did you watch September? They often don't hit much.
Leake's pitching? He's an emergency starter.
Rolen's error? Nobody's going to accuse Scott Rolen of choking, he's played in a million big games.
Reds have a home run offense. They aren't consistent hitters, except for Votto who is injured this year. So now they aren't scoring and they are falling behind. They can rectify it with a couple of long balls.

It's not the act of losing.
It's performing worse than normal as a direct result of pressure.
The Reds lose 3 in a row sometimes. In fact, they are more likely to do so against another playoff calibre team.
That doesn't mean they necessarily choke. As a team can lose 3 games very easily by performing at an equal level of their norm.
