9 games out of first, and now the NLCS.
2 Wildcards seems a bit silly.
Braves (4), Nationals (1)
Giants(3), Reds(2)

What a cruel way to wake up. Stupid Cardinals.

Woke up to this and not suprised. I actually have a freindly wager (made 2 weeks ago) that the Cards would be the NL representative in the WS. One step closer to unfathomable wealth .
I get rivalries, but I certainly don't get the hatred thrown at the Cardinals. I get the dislike for Carpenter, but the rest of that squad seem like fairly decent kids. Maybe I'm not close enough to the team to know.
Good season to the Nats. Suprised me.
I have never liked the WC system in any sport, but we all know why the WC system exists. And MLB, when it expanded from 2 divisions to 3, decided to take a page from the NFL and give a second place team a chance, hoping to create more competitive balance.
But this year's one game winner-take-all WC game was stupid IMO. This is baseball, not football.
I'm old school.... I liked having two divisions in each league and the winners played each other for the pennant. But those days are lonnng gone, never to return because of M-O-N-E-Y.

I hate baseball.
Somebody's going to have to detonate something in the Cards dugout to knock them out of the playoffs.
Going back to September of 2011, the way that team has stayed alive has been incredible. No team I'd rather see lose (OK, except the Yankees), but you have to give them a lot of credit for persevering and prevailing the way they have.
I'm not a huge fan of wild cards, but the Cardinals were second in the NL in run differential. If the Cards are the NL rep in the WS, its not as outrageous as many are making it out to be.
I think if you have to have a wild card, penalizing them by making them play in a one and done game that the division winners aren't subjected to is better than one where they are bascally treated equally to the division winners.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
It is pointless to root against the Cardinals.
And hating them seems petty and futile to me.
They continue to do what we cannot do and we are jealous.

Cardinals fans must bathe in glitter and sleep with unicorns.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
