    Birthdays- 10/20

    Reds:

Dave Collins (59) -The Rapid City Rabbit. Dave was involved in a really one-sided trade in 1983, when Toronto acquired him, Mike Morgan, Fred McGriff, and cash from the Yankees for Dale Murray and Tom Dodd.

    Others:

Juan Gonzalez (42) -Married four times. One of his daughters has been diagnosed with Sebastian Syndrome, which only 50 people in the world are known to have.

Keith Hernandez (58) His facial hair was voted "Outstanding Moustache In Sports" by the American Moustache Institute. Rollie Fingers wuz robbed!

Juan Marichal (74) -Won the most games of any pitcher in the 1960s, but did not get a single Cy Young vote in the '60s.

Yes, Fingers was robbed. Not a better mustache in the history of sports than his.

Hard to believe Marichal never got a vote for Cy Young. He was competing against Gibson,Koufax and Drysdale among others. But you would think he would have got a few votes.

In 1977 he was the first batter for the Seattle Mariners in the first game of their inaugural season, and scored the franchise's first run two days later.

I read that and thought: "wow, it took him a long time to get around the bases!"
