The True Debate: Giants-LUCK or SKILL?

They have won 6 straight elimination games in a row.

Is that luck or is that skill?

Both. But I expect that their run ends soon.

I'd really hate to see Romo do that bush dance yet again.

Re: The True Debate: Giants-LUCK or SKILL?

    Definitely a combo of both.

    Luck:
If we do not lose Cueto in game 1, who knows what could have been. Also, there are the Rolen and Cozart bobbles that could have cost wins.

    Skill:
They took advantage of the luck they had and kept the foot on the gas pedal no matter how bleak the series looked. Clutch hits and strong showings from Lincecum (in BP) and Romo have helped them in tight spots.

I am rooting for them now, but I fear Detroit is too sound and too hot in the postseason for them.

For the Giants to be where they currently sit relies a foundation of skill and experience, layered with poise and clutch, and then topped off with a drizzle of luck. It's the recipe how most teams get into any championship.

I just cast my vote for skill. After what we just saw, come on.

Call it how you must....but down 0-2 with 3 games at Cincy and down 3-1 to the defending world champs and NEVER, NOT ONCE, flinched.

    Very impressive

    Neither. It's called clutch.

Mostly skill (ie good situational hitters), but a little bit of luck (we sweep them IMO if JC doesn't get hurt)
