Great step for David. Interested in seeing who the Reds will name as Louisville's manager.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

I had put the story up in the Minor League forum since I figured he was the AAA manager and hence, will be a topic of discussion viz a viz our minor leagues.

Did Theo just bogart our future manager?

As woy said in another thread (in so many words), he's being sent to baseball purgatory in order to learn how to suffer.

The Reds could still hire him as the manager if they wanted to. Teams hire coaches from other organizations all the time.

Understood. But given the Cubs lack of success at the major league level recently, I have a feeling Bell could get a "call up" before Dusty's current contract plays out. Oh well, I suppose that ship has sailed anyway.

I doubt Dave Sveum is on the hot seat just yet with Chicago, but it may get him a better look for another team in 2014.

That would be great. I'd love to see Rolen mentoring the young guys.

It's just a matter of time before Corky is a manager somewhere.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Glad to see Bell move on. Did not want to see him as future manager
