Re: Every Reds Hall of Famer blog

As Nuxy would say, rounding third and heading for home, my daughter has just one more from the 2008 class, then the '10 and '12 classes and she'll have finished all of them - so just seven more to do.

Here's Joey Jay. When she posted a link on Facebook for this post, she commented that this wasn't a magical fusion of two current Reds players, but the pitcher from the 1960's team.

Well she's finished the last (at least until next year's group is announced and inducted). I hope everyone has enjoyed these.

Wow...In some of these she rally captures the essence of the player. I especially liked Sparky, Gordy Coleman and Gus Bell.

I missed this thread before. This is good work.

Looking at the banner on her blog, IMO RedsZone should commission her to produce a new banner for this site. That'd be a good project to fill the gap until the next HOF announcement.

One of the fun things has been sharing these with folks; here, of course, but also reaching out to players and their families. It's amazing what you can sleuth out these days.

Gus Bell's was fun because I went to school with his son and daughter and sent them the link for their Dad's. Edd Roush's granddaughter, the one who has written some books about him, really liked his and even said she was keeping a copy and might use it for her next book (yeah!). She also sent it to her contact at the Reds' Hall. I've tweeted some at players or players' families. Borbon's son is a scout for the Cards and he responded about his Dad's and I got a note back from Vada Pinson's son too. So that's been a lot of fun, as I said.

Borbon's is one of my favorites, as it Ewell Blackwell's. I really like the movement of her sketch of him. It will be interesting to see what becomes of these. She's really enjoyed putting them together. She did a couple over the summer when she was home and that was interesting to see her work directly and then see it on the blog.

BTW, folks can see her other baseball illustrations here, from her regular blog. I've had her baseball sunrise put on a tile that's hanging in my "baseball shrine" in my office and also put on a shopping bag for my wife.

I've been chomping at the bit to share this, but it's now official. My daughter's illustrations will be displayed at Redsfest!

It's Hall of Fame weekend and my daughter has posted her illustrations of this year's class. Check them out at http://everyredshalloffamer.wordpress.com/

I see I haven't updated this in years. My daughter added this year's class, plus there are plenty of others since I last posted in 2014.
