Every Reds Hall of Famer blog

Just got word from my daughter, the illustrator, that she has begun a blog drawing each Reds Hall of Fame member. Last week on Facebook, she hinted that something was in the work, but details for sketchy (pun absolutely intended!). In the blog, she calls it "one artist's quest to stay busy in the offseason… and maybe even master the shape of the wishbone C."

As a proud dad and a dye-in-the-wool Reds fan, I'm absolutely thrilled and think many here will enjoy this project as it goes along.

My daughter has added a couple of players. The most recent is Ival Goodman and this morning, on her other blog, she gave a bit of the back story behind arriving at Goodman's illustration and the difficulty she had getting that final product - with a sidetrack to Roberto Clemente!

She's up to fifteen inductees so far with today's illustration of the i imitable Noodles Hahn.

I've been seeking out descendents of various Reds players and sending along a link. She got a nice note from the granddaughter of Edd Roush who loved his drawing. She's the one who has written a book about him and about the 1919 World Series (which she mentioned has been optioned to HBO - very cool).

More updates on the blog my daughters doing this off-season. Several of the 1950's era Reds (many of whom died fairly young) and today's Fred Hutchinson (who, for that matter, also died way too young).

It's been a couple of months, but a good number of players more of us have seen play in our lifetimes have been added to the blog.

Thanks. It continues to be great fun. And she's had some nice responses back from folks, including some family members of various players.

I thought I'd bump this up as my daughter has passed the 50 player mark about a month ago. She just did George Foster. Now the drawings are into the period where there are modern players, but more players from the distant past. Some of those are my favorites.

There have been some additions to my daughter's blog. Today's is George Wright, one of the grandaddies of Reds baseball. There have been some other nice ones recently too (I especially like Eric Davis' illustration).

When she posted the link for this one on her illustration Facebook page, she noted, "Ohio history contains two sets of famous pioneering Wright brothers. George is from the non-aviation family."

    enjoyed those drawings very much.
Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.
