It won't be announced until the 12th.

Okay, this is what he said he was referring to. Now, back to my previous post, if I read it correctly, though it won't be announced until the 12th, it sounds as if they have already voted on it, and the cat's out of the bag.

That article appears to just be for Sporting News. The Baseball Writers Association of America's award is the one that's the official award

There are 3 different awards. Frazier won the award voted on by the players. The Sporting News names their own Rookies of the Year which was announced last week. Then the main rookied of the year is voted on by the baseball writers and that will be announced next week.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd insert this Joe Poz article about ROY voting and some history that is fascinating. I'll probably link to it when the award is announced tonight.

came in 3rd, 60 points behind Miley and 67 behind Harper. Thought he'd be tighter than that.
    Is it "next season" yet?

I thought Miley should have had it followed by Harper then Frazier. Frazier had a terrible late August through the rest of the year, but by no means should Harper have gotten it over Miley! JMHO

Miley falling apart in September cost him the award.

Last impressions may mean a lot in this sort of thing. Harper's September/October was .330/.400/.643
There are only two seasons - Winter and Baseball.

Harper has the brightest future, but I still think Frazier should have won overall. Congrats to both kids though, hope to enjoy watching both play for years to come.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Harper had a 119 OPS+ and played a lot of center. Frazier had a 115 OPS+ and played corner positions.
