    Marshall & Broxton

I've seen a lot of complaining about their contracts (probably warranted), but I'm wondering about their physical conditions. Saw something a week or so ago speculating that Broxton probably won't be ready for Spring Training. but have kept up with them that closely.

    Got three questions?

    1. When do you believe each should be available to pitch?
    2. How effective do you think they may be once they do return?
    3. Do you think either will have any trade value (Off season or Trade Deadline) after they return? *

    * I'm thinking as a salary offset in a trade, should the Reds bring on a bigger contract in a deal.

    Re: Marshall & Broxton

Marshall was available at the end of the season, so I would guess he is good to go. Broxton, I haven't heard anything since his surgery, but at that time he was supposed to be ready sometime early next season.

I expect Marshall to be his same productive self, if he remains healthy. Shoulders are always a concern, until the aren't.(ex. Homer Bailey)

I would think Marshall would be significantly easier to move if they wanted to try go that route.

If all were healthy, one of Broxton, Marshall or are who I'd try to add to a deal to balance $$$ if the Reds took on a big contract.

I would imagine Broxton has less than zero trade value right now. Teams would make plays for Marshall, though.

I think folks are forgetting just how good Marshall is. I don't have any interest into moving him.

Marshall and Cueto are the keys to the Reds staff this season. Need both to be healthy to make a run at the Cardinals.
