Japanese Meteorological Association (JMA) issued a tsunami warning for the east coat of Japan with I was told a 2 meter (6 foot) warning. There was also a rise of 0.1 meters from a deep water buoy to the northeast (I believe) of the earthquake. You won't see much of a rise over deep water but then it will build strength and gain height and momentum once it moves over more shallow water.
