Reds 2012 5th Round Mason Felt involved in a very bad car accident

    http://www.gwinnettprepsports.com/ne...lled-in-crash/

Former Hebron Christian Academy pitcher Mason Felt and his father, Rich, were driving home for the holidays Saturday when a single-vehicle accident in Texas claimed the elder Felt's life.

#Heath Kennedy, HCA's baseball coach until resigning earlier this year, said late Saturday that Rich Felt had flown out to Arizona to ride back to Hoschton with his son, a fifth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds who was out west to rehab his shoulder. At about 10:30 a.m. Central time, their truck crashed near Ozona, Texas.

#Rich Felt -- a former South Gwinnett star who pitched in the Los Angeles Dodgers system for five years during the '80s -- was killed.

#Mason Felt was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. He was considered to be in stable condition on Saturday night, Kennedy said.

I have seen other places that he was listed in critical condition, though the above report does say he was in stable condition, so hopefully that is true.

Horrible news. From the sound of what happened (wife just read the story), maybe fell asleep then overcorrected and flipped the vehicle

Thoughts and prayers for the family.

Ty Washington (a Reds minor leaguer) is at the hospital with Mason. He says that Mason has a broken left arm and a collapsed lung.

I saw on twitter, though I can't confirm it anywhere, that Mason will need surgery on his neck when he wakes up.
