Well we haven't heard anything from Fay or Sheldon about it but I really like it if it's true.

I agree. If the deal goes through, I would have to believe the Reds have given up on Rolen coming back next year to share time with Jersey. But Hannahan is a decent backup for the right price. Nothing special, but can fill in when needed.

Pretty good move if it happens. I figure he'd fill a valuable Cairo-like role, but be more like good Miggy than bag Miggy with his range on defense.
Nothing flashy, but a good baseball move. Emmanuel Burris (if he makes the roster) was a good scoop even, I thought. The idea of guys like Valdez, Cairo and even Willie Harris wasn't terrible last year, they just happened to not pan out with their performances.
Assuming they break camp, I'm more optimistic that Hannahan and Burris in defensive/super utility roles are marginal, but prudent improvements to the bench in 2013.
