I hear Scott played CF way back in high school. Dusty is looking for a backup CFer, and Rolen may be the guy.

Perhaps Frazier could/should be bouncing. What if Frazier got a little ST time at CF and middle IF -- and I realize how demanding those positions are.

If he proves serviceable at those positions -- not for a season, but just for 1 game every week or two -- then Rolen could be the fixture at 3B, and Frazier could spell him there periodically in addition to giving Cozart, Phillips, Votto, Bruce, and Choo a day off occasionally.

Frazier might get as much PT as anybody that way. I'm not subbing Todd for RHH Ludwick, but seeing LHH Paul in that role.

Frazier at any position in the field probably weakens the defense for that 1 game, but with all position players so well rested, the offense should be at its optimum.

If it could possibly work, when the Reds are using a fly-ball pitcher, Frazier could be assigned to the IF, when the Reds are using a ground ball pitcher, he could be in the OF.

I had a similar thought about Aaron Boone's being used that way when he was breaking in with the Reds. Of course, Boone's softer hands and better range and foot speed than Frazier made him a better candidate.

Football has the all-purpose guy, basketball has the swing man, Frazier could be the Reds' all-purpose swing man.

I know that this is way out of the box, but it gets both Frazier and Rolen into the batter's box.

Sorry, but I think we need to Rolen out of the batter's box. .676 OPS in 2011 and .716 in 2012. That is not good for a corner infielder.

My prediction is management talks him out of it and offers him a job within the organization. Atleast that is my hope.
