    Re: 2014 Reds

That's what's so exciting about this team - it doesn't appear to be falling apart anytime soon.

Hopefully Choo can be replaced by Hamilton.
Hopefully Arroyo can be replaced by some combination of Leake/Corcino/Cingrani

I don't look at Masset as needing a replacement, although Ondrusek and possibly Lotzkar or Cingrani could easily replace him (and/or a veteran major leaguer).

Barring major injuries, there really doesn't appear to be any major holes that need to be filled via trade for the next 18+ months. I'd look to extend Latos and possibly Bailey. By the time one or more of the SP is eligible to leave via FA (not until 2015 at the earliest), one or more of Corcino/Cingrani/Stephenson should be more than ready to step in.
    Go BLUE!!!

    Can't we enjoy 2013 first?

    LOL.

I'm just showing how well this team has been set up by contracts for continuity.

And with continuity, and people locked up, it also gives flexibility.

The amount pitching depth, if Corcino, Cingrani, and Stephenson progress as expected, is incomparable in my lifetime of being a Reds fan. But it also gives the Reds options if a sudden need arises.

And the farm system is restocking itself in the lower levels. By the time some of these contracts expire, surely, replacements will arrive from the minors.

It's a great situation to have.

And if you paid attention in the early 2000's, you remember the yearly scrap heap signings and who's who at all positions. It was hard to keep up and remember anyone.

Just a thought on this: if Choo performs well, I make the effort to sign him to a 3 year deal (something along the lines of what Victorino got this year, perhaps). Hamilton is the 4th outfielder in 2014, spelling both Ludwick and Choo and also coming in to pinch run. After 2014, Ludwick is gone: slide Choo over to the LF spot and let Hamilton have CF.

    Another thought.

Cozart has had a bit of the injury bug. Hamilton could be the 4th outfielder and could also fill in at SS if injury beckons.

Same here. I'll start worrying about 2014 after the Reds are finished playing in the World Series.

Yeah. It's all set up for the leaving pieces to be replaced.

    Choo replaced by B. Hamilton
Arroyo replaced by either Leake, Cingrani, or Corcino.
Masset replaced by any number of guys.

Why don't you have Chapman listed as a starter? Are you Dusty?
