The Charlotte Bobcats have moved quickly in looking into a reclamation of the Hornets nickname. ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the team has been speaking with the NBA and doing its "due diligence" with an interest to taking the name that the New Orleans franchise currently holds.

Not even 24 hours after their season finale, New Orleans Hornets are dead and the Pelicans are alive.

Can't we come up with some sort of sports czar to take back the Jazz moniker and give it to New Orleans?

    New Orleans Jazz
    Charlotte Hornets
    Utah Stars
    Seattle Supersonics
    Sacramento Royals
    Memphis Kings
    Toronto anything-besides-90s-Jurrasic-Park-Reference

For obvious reasons, the Lakers would be allowed to keep their geographically/culturally inaccurate name.

Can we add the Washington Bullets? As a quasi-fan, I can still barely bring myself to call them the Wizards, even after all these years.
