    And so are the Nationals.

The Nationals continue to talk to Mike Gonzalez about returning and the Reds are also in pursuit, Bowden tweets.

Seems like a good target. I just wonder who would get bumped from the bullpen. I'm guessing Hoover since he has options, though there's always the possibility of injury or trade.

Meh -- he misses bats but seems to give up runs --- his BABIP was .319 last year - slightly above the norm -- he's a Boras client ---

worth a cheap shot if we have a roster spot -- IMHO

I'd love this pick up, but strictly as a LOOGY. Gonzalez is pretty much as "feast-or-famine" as it gets with RH/LH splits, IIRC.

I would love to have MG be the 7th or 8th inning guy to get the lefties out.
I just wasnt a big Bray fan. He would come in with runner on second and give up the base hit to score but it wouldnt effect his ERA.

Over the course of the last two seasons:

Bray has allowed 16 of 70 Inherited Runners to score (22.9%)

Gonzalez has allowed 8 of 36 Inherited Runners to score (22.2%)

    Over their careers:

Bray has allowed 50 of 183 Inherited Runners to score (27.3%)

Gonzalez has allowed 48 of 171 Inherited Runners to score (28.1%)

Seems apparent that the reason you gave is not a valid reason to prefer Gonzalez over Bray.

My statement was based on being tired of Bray more than of MG and not statistics as I mentioned nothing of MG's stats.
Bray has his good streaks then comes in and gives up the big hit or homerun etc. Of course he spent so much time on the DL, so that plays in to equation as well.
Sometimes it is just good to change or give someone else a shot.

That's actually a nice chunk of change for a lefty specialist.
