Came here to post this. I agree...Id be letting Price cut his own paychecks.
Been saying it since Jocketty brought him aboard. No secret in the big leagues that Price is one of if not THE BEST in the biz.
Mike Maddux, Darren Balsley and Larry Rothschild belong in that grouping too. Guys that KNOW what they are doing, not just riding the coat tails of a good staff.

Cedric 3/24/08It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
Bryan Price is truly a coach a great team would never let go. Pay that man whatever he wants
2006 Redzone mock Draftee's- 1(st) Daniel Bard(redsox), 1(st sup)( Jordan Walden (Angels), 2(nd) rd.- Zach Britton(Orioles), 3(rd) Blair Erickson(Cardinals), 3(rd) Tim Norton( Yankees),(cuz its a Tim Hortons thing
Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.
Price was a genius in 2010, way overrated in 2011, and an evil genius in 2012.
Such is the life of a pitching coach. IMHO, Jocketty deserves the pitching coach of the year award for 2012.
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
This is what I liked most in that article:
It's one reason to believe Aroldis Chapman will succeed as a starter in 2013.
As the article makes clear, his track record goes back well beyond 2010.Price was a genius in 2010, way overrated in 2011, and an evil genius in 2012.
Is he possible manager material?
Really?
Believe it or not I'm very familiar with Price (reexamine his history for clues as to why if that statement mystifies you).
I'm also familiar with the accolades he got here in 2010, the grousing about the pitching in 2011, and the accolades he again received last year.
And you know what? The point about Walt and his impact on the roster still stands given the significant moves he made as well as the way he has consistently fashioned the defense.

At least these days we don't have to say "Maybe Price can fix him."
Well, I'm jacked up. Let's play ball!
