    Loved it! Just bookmarked the blog. Great lede (anything about the Reds that starts with "97 wins" wins my approval), nice flow, concisely summed up the entire team.

    I'm a writer by trade too. Since you said you're looking for constructive criticism, the only thing I can think to offer for now is don't feel the need to use a lot of commas. Sentences will read a little easier if you're not setting off a bunch of items.     Good work! One question -- you write that Brandon Phillips' signing was "the best thing to happen this off-season." What about Votto's extension?
