After switching between watching the Reds sleepwalk through today's game and a terrible US Open, it's nice to see another Stanley Cup finals thriller.

There are some among us that see this as a great ending. No matter which side we are rooting for, it has been a great series so far.

That would be exciting, but I'm not sure my heart can take much more.

Yes but Bruins fans are wrong, just wrong.

I don't have a dog in this hunt (I wish I did), but this is as evenly matched as a series can get. Chicago is lucky they got that fortunate goal in the 3rd Period of Game One or else they'd be down 0-2 and heading to Boston.

It is pretty even, I hate it. I'm not rooting for good hockey, I'm rooting for my team to win the Stanley Cup. Gotta be honest here.

Joseph, how did you become a fan of the teams you're a fan of? I'm with you, re: UK, Reds and Bengals. Are you from ChiTown or did you move there? I wish we had an NHL team in Lexington. I lived in upstate NY for a few years and fell in love with hockey. I miss it.

That sucked. But only because the Bruins are a good team too. I think a lot of Hawks fans forget that.

I'm from Kentucky so most of my fandoms are fairly natural as you said, UK, Reds, Bengals. In the early 90's though I was in high school and the Hawks made the Finals against the Pens. It might be a bit lame, but I really dug their sweaters so I rooted for them against the Pens and really started to get into hockey afterwards. Loved Amonte and Roenick and Eddie Belfour and from then on I was a fan. Obviously WWW kind of made being a fan hard in the late 90's and early 00's but as I stated in another thread my wife finally took me to my first game back in 08. I'd been excited about the kids [Toews, Kane] for a couple seasons at that point so seeing them live just kicked it up another notch and I haven't really stopped watching since. Heather [my wife] thinks I may like it more than baseball now. I know they are pretty close in all honesty.

As a follow up, I don't really do the NBA anymore but like any good teen or twenty something I was a huge Jordan fan, so my 4 major pro sports came from the 2 cities, Reds and Bengals, Hawks and Bulls.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98
