Lord knows, if I was in his position, and truely sick, I'd make sure to show up at those meetings somehow, someway explain that you're sick but didn't want to miss out on the opportunity.

You have to remember, even before all the character red flags popped up a year ago, he was still considered undersized enough to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Now he's been out of football for a year, and has a ton of red flags. He says he's been drug free for 7 months now, well he was kicked out of LSU more than 7 months ago, if that wasn't a wake up call, I wouldn't expect him to kick his weed (or whatever else he's putting in his body) habit for the long run.

I'd take a flyer on him in the 4th, maybe late 3rd as a guy that has potential as a return man and nickle corner; I wouldn't use a pick in the 2nd.
He was the best and most dangerous player to touch the field two years ago. He was a ball hawk as a corner and as dangerous of a return man as you can get. I get him being undersized but I thought people were looking too much at measurables instead of the havoc he wrecked on the field.

Unfortunately he can't stay out of his own way. I was all for the Bengals taking him until I saw his flier for a draft party. There is nothing illegal with trowing a party after you are drafted. The problem is when you have red flags you can't do something as stupid as that.

Not a fan of the pick, but I'm not a college football viewer usually so I only know a handful of the names. I wanted other guys there [a safety for example] and am a fan of Gresham overall, so it was a surprise.

We will see though, people who get paid a lot of money said he's the way to go and who am I to doubt it?

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Who are we going to grab in the 2nd RD? DB? That slow LB with a fake GF? Lacy?

Peter King things the Bengals are going to take Lacy. Even mentions that if you wanted to place a bet on one pick it would be Lacy to the Bengals. I wouldn't mind Arthur Brown or Cyrprein if he is there. I wouldn't like to see them go D with the first pick and hope one of the RB's your looking for to drop to their second 2nd round pick.

I think there are plenty of RBs available to get one late in the 2nd. I'd use the 37th pick on Cyprien. After Vaccaro, Reid, and Elam, he's the next best safety. Just had a private workout with the Bengals, so Zim saw him up close. I'd be happy with Bernard late in the 2nd, if he's there. Otherwise Montee Ball or best available LB.

I think all those linemen going last night really played into the Bengals negotiating plans with Andre Smith. He really has little leverage remaining now, since all those teams drafted tackles. Though I still wouldn't be upset if the Bengals drafted Fragel late in the 2nd or 3rd.

I understand he made a ton of plays 2 years ago, but the problem is, at 5'-8", how the heck is he going to cover a guy like AJ Green or Calvin Johnson on a fade pattern in the red zone? He'd be great as a robber, or a guy that was checking down on a RB coming out of the backfield, but typically guys his size don't cut it as starters. He was great at causing fumbles, but those are easier to cause in college than in the pros; he only had 4 interceptions in his 2 seasons at LSU. If you can't make a play on the ball in the pros, its hard to be as disruptive. Its not to say he can't succeed, antoine winfield certainly has done great as an undersized corner, but most GMs don't want to take a guy in the 1st whom they feel will only play half the snaps.

Throw on top his character issues, and I'd be shocked if he was taken in the 2nd, I'd certainly be dissapointed if the Bengals took him. If they took a flyer on him in the 4th, I'd be OK, there's a certain amount of risk/reward as a return guy that he could provide.

Perhaps an opportunity for the Bengals to pick up an extra pick.

there isn't a ton of value difference b/w the bengals pick at 37 and the Jets pick at 39, so true value is like a 6th round pick. with 2 in 6 and 2 in 7, the bengals don't really need another late draft pick, and they're not enough value to use to move up much in other rounds, so perhaps the bengals could get a 4th knowing there is a good chance Zona is going to take a QB at 38 if the Jets guy is sitting there at 37.

Your pretty much spot on. I don't disagree with anything. Often times game breakers in college don't really translate into the NFL. I do think that he could be as good as Devin Hester. Maybe translate into a solid nickle back or something more. He just was that guy in college who you said "don't let Matheau beat you" and he did beat you in every game. What is that worth with all his baggage?

Can't help but feel like we might need to trade a late-rounder to move up a few slots and snag Cyprien. I know that's probably why I'm not in the war room, but it seems like the Jags have their eye on him, and I've seen him scooped up before us in a lot of round 2 mock drafts. He's by far my favorite player left, and I hope we can somehow scoop him up.

Also, my inner Gamecocks fan hopes that we take a chance on Lattimore...

My ideal rest of the draft

2A - Menelik Watson OT Fla. St. or Terron Armstead OT Ark. Pine Bluff
    2B - Phillip Thomas S Fresno St.
    3rd - Devonte Holloman OLB S.C.
4th - Matt Scott QB Arizona
5th - Latavius Murray RB UCF
6th - Travis Chapalear DE NW Missouri St.
6th - Dwayne Gratz CB UCONN
    7th - BJ Scott S S. Alabama

There goes Cyprien. I'm not sure who we take here...maybe trade back and pick up both Bernard and Swearinger?

    From twitter

@AdamSchefter: Big Bengals move: Cincinnati is re-signing OT Andre Smith, per source.

    That helps
