Two guys worth watching with the Bengals
Mike Gillislee and Denard Robinson. Both could be role specific homerun hitters.

Florida RB could be a change of pace type to BJGE.

Both are interesting. Gillislee kinda reminds me of Rudi Johnson.
Another homerun pick if the Bengals wanted to go that route is WVU's Tavon Austin. He's undersized, but could be used as a RB, WR, or return specialist and would add some explosiveness to the offense. Think Percy Harvin.
1 & 2. I agree with this. You can't franchise Johnson because I don't think he is good enough to be paid like a top 5 DL. I don't have a problem paying Andre top 5 money at RT.
3. Bush is getting a little long in the tooth. I do like what he brings to the table, but how much longer can he be effective at the rate he wants. Amendola can't stay on the field, I would lean towards Mike Wallace if I am going to sign a FA WR.
4-7. BPA among the LB/S/WR/DB area after the 1st.
8. The thing with Maualuga is he got better during the season when he cut weight. I don't think he will ever be anything spectacular but if he shows up lighter and can run a little better he may be ok, especially if they can't improve in the draft at LB.
I like Leonard as a 3rd down back. I don't like Leonard as the backup RB. It is just amazing how other teams don't have a problem plugging in any RB yet the Bengals turn to Leonard and Periman instead of a guy like Boom Herron who is more explosive. But I don't see a spot on the team for Leonard as just a 3rd down back.
Newman will be back, Clemens might not be a bad insurance plan as a S especially if he comes cheep. I agree with Pacman (thought I would never say that) he was good last year.
Can't extend Green or Adkins yet, when they can its a must.
But isn't the franchise tag the average of the top 5 offensive tackles, not right tackles? Andre Smith doesn't deserve to be paid as a top 5 left tackle.
I would still franchise either Smith or Johnson, and probably Smith, but either way you are going to be paying someone more than they probably would otherwise get for a year.

I had no idea Ed Reed was going to be a free agent, and even more, might sign somewhere besides Baltimore. It's a long shot, but does he have enough left in the tank to look into?
Keeping him here long-term is a must, but it's not baseball where they would almost have to extend him with one year left on his deal. If they can't sign him to a fair, long-term deal, they can always franchise him next year, and unlike Smith or Johnson he is absolutely worth paying as a top-5 DT (as he is probably a top-1 DT).
Agreed, but allow me to clarify: keeping in long-term, some how, some way, is a must.
On another note, I think Michael Johnson had a great year, and I'm certainly interested in keeping him, but the parallels between his 2012 and Robert Geathers's 2006 season (and subsequent huge extension that just ended) make me somewhat wary. I'd hate to grossly overpay someone again based on what they did in their contract year only to have them revert to their pre-contract year form.
Obviously we want to keep as many of our good players as possible but for the sake of discussion, who's more valuable? Michael Johnson or Carlos Dunlap? I'd argue it's Dunlap. Sure he does take plays off but he's also a playmaker and you can give no higher compliment to any NFL player. When Dunlap makes plays, it's turnovers or drive stoppers.
