I remember this Tim Teufel beaning like it was yesterday!!!!!! I watched this game live and was jumping around my living room like a nut. Dibble's 99MPH heater in the back can't feel good.

It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

I believe it was the 2011 RedsFest when Tracy Jones was on stage as the topic of steroids came up. He talked at length about them (and every other subject he participated in) but insisted he never tried them. He gives the same, long-winded answers to a lot of the same questions every year (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Rose, Bench, Perez, Concepcion and Griffey were all at the park that day.

I don't believe a word Pete says unless he starts what he says with "I bet"....

    Then you know he serious.

I could not care less about the Rose comment, but big thanks to Team Clark for posting the video. I'm not saying baseball was better back then, but there is nothing quite like the baseball from your impressionable youth. I had just been a fan a couple seasons at that point and seeing all those players from my childhood just makes me smile and remember those carefree days. It also makes me think of my father. We never missed a Reds game on TV and back then with TBS we saw them play the Braves a lot.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Not surprised. I always suspected Jones as well.
Over one winter, he came into spring camp absolutely huge, and was bragging about how much his bench press went up. I remember as a kid, how he talked about what an "Awesome" workout routine he had over the offseason. Then later in his career, he blamed the extra bulk for his many injuries.
It just seems to fit the profile too much. I have no proof obviously.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Crazy the stuff you remember.
I remember something about that, too. What I heard was that Tracy was the only player on the team who could compare with Dave Parker in terms of strength.

Picking up clues from the broadcast, I figured out what game this was:

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...98706210.shtml

Marty bench Griffey and Murphy hitting back to back homers against Bill Gullickson the day before and that brought me to it, although Griffey hit about four homers off Gullickson in the 86 and 87 seasons.
