The U is Back (only it isn't football)

Has anyone gotten a chance to watch Miami hoops? They are demolishing the ACC. They are undefeated in the ACC with 20+ point wins over Duke, UNC, and Florida St. Also, Barry Larkin's son is tearing it up (he had 18 and 9 assists today vs. UNC).

Finally, did anyone see what happened when they were up 30 on Duke? Warren Sapp was yelling at the players to slap the floor, so they did. How awesome is that?

I haven't been able to watch them yet this year, but they are super well-coached and seem to have a veteran team. A dangerous, dangerous team to play in the NCAA tournament. I thought Jim Larranaga was crazy to take that job. With the potential sanctions they had coming, not to mention the competition in the ACC, I thought it was career suicide to leave George Mason. But good for him for taking them to these heights. What a great coach.

It's kind of crazy that a team with losses against Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana State could turn around and roll through the ACC and possibly end up with a number one seed in the tournament.

Florida Gulf Coast is impossible to explain, but Indiana State is pretty good. They killed Creighton and won at Wichita State, too. They'd be an at-large team if the season ended today (38 RPI).

They are legit. They straight up destroyed Carolina. They picked a great year to have a good team.

They would be my vote for number one this week. They are the best team in the nation at the moment. Only ACC team to beat UNC and Duke by 25+ in the same season since the ACC was formed,1953.

In a season where no team deserves the top spot, Miami is just as good a choice as anyone else.

What a down year for basketball.

No one looks good for more than a few games in a row.
