Two separate 50+car pile ups in the Cincinnati area

Plenty of stuff still coming in on both of these, but about 7 miles from me was a pile up "involving 70 passenger vehicles and 16 commercial vehicles" that so far has had one death where a woman exited her car and was then struck. That was on 275 between the Hamilton and Colerain exits.

On 75 near Middletown was a 50 car pile up. So far, no deaths have been reported.

It is crazy. The video from the one near Colerain has plenty of snow on the ground. I haven't seen a flurry and it is as sunny as can be outside.

my lord, looking at those pictures, I can't believe there has only been 1 casualty, some of those cars are in terrible shape. My wife was at my mother in law's house this morning in Monroe, and heading south to Costco this morning, thankfully they're back their safe, made me nervous for a minute knowing the possibility that they were caught up in that. Hopefully everyone involved in that turns out ok beyond the 1 known casualty. thoughts and prayers out to her family. Sounds terrifying.

Sounds like the safety barrier wire did it's job. That probably prevented a lot more deaths.

so after talking to my wife about it last night, it appears as if she "just" made it thru the middletown area. She said she drove thru the "white out", but she must have been at the front end, as she reached her mother's house in Monroe at 11:25 and the accidents were shortly after that. Weird to think that just 1 "time out" for our 4 year old and she likely would have been smack dab in the middle of that pileup.

glad to hear the casualties were at a minimum, hard to believe there weren't more casualties. Prayers out to the 12 year old girl that passed away as well as all of those dealing with the injuries and headaches the pileups created.
