Site Sluggishness

All,

Does anyone besides me regularly encounter slow speeds on RedsZone? Assuming it's not just me, I believe this is what's contributing to the frequent double posts, as well. I've opened many tickets with our host, and each essentially ends in them stating they're seeing no problem(s) on their end. There is another option I can try, but before I go that route, I want to ensure it's not just on my end.

Please let me know either way how the normal site speed is for you...

Re: Site Sluggishness

I have seen where it takes a long time "thinking" after using the quick reply box.

Re: Site Sluggishness

I'm experiencing the sluggishness you're referring to as well. When you made your original post it was indeed almost unusable for about a half hour. It is better now. Did they do something at that time? It has been loading slowly this morning

They shouldn't have, as I didn't make a request, but I'm experiencing the slowness, as well.

I just tried to do a three line quick reply to the Joe Gar retirement thread in ORG and after a slow 2 mins of waiting I got to the "done" page but nothing else. I closed out and tried to reload and that was slow as well. In the end, it didn't take at all as I can't see that it even went through. That was at 10:19am today

I use Tapatalk at least half my time on the site, and while it's also slow on there, it's not unresponsive, at least for me.

Re: Site Sluggishness

Thanks...I'm going to first try purging some very old posts (it's been forever since I last did that) and see if that helps before moving on to other options.

Re: Site Sluggishness

I pruned a large amount of very old threads from the Sun Deck, and unfortunately, I did more than I should have at one time because it took a couple hours, and I still don't even think it finished, as the process appeared to be "stuck". At first glance, the site performance doesn't appear to be any better, so I'll prune threads later but in much smaller batches.

I apologize for the unexpectedly long down time.

Still extremely slow here. I'll try later.

Re: Site Sluggishness

I was trying to prune a very small amount of threads, and I couldn't even do that. At this point, I've taken our host's suggestion and disabled all custom addons so we're running stock vBulletin. Please see the announcement I just posted for more information, and let me know if it's improved at all, stayed the same or gotten worse.
