Help me work this trade out!

Ok,
I think I'm close to making a trade to helping my roster situation.

I give:
OF Brad Hawpe
1B Richie Sexson
SP Kelvim Escobar
RP Chris Ray

I get:
OF Carl Crawford
SP Jeremy Bonderman

What do you think? I need to clear two spots on my roster for when Rich Harden and John Patterson return. I could pick up SP Matt Cain and another player for the two open spots on my roster. I could use the SB's. I already have 3 other good closers (Papelbon, Gordon, and B.J. Ryan) so I don't need Ray that much. Escobar and Bonderman are pretty even, I think, but I'd take Bonderman by a nose. What do you think, good deal or not? Assuming Escobar and Bonderman are pretty close, that's Sexson, Hawpe and Ray for Crawford---that's a lot to give up, isn't it? Should I take Ray out and just make it Sexson, Hawpe and Escobar for Crawford and Bonderman?

That's an awful lot to give up for Crawford.

His 5-for-5 night w/5 runs scored and 4 SB's last night really boosted his statline.

Would you give up Sexson and Hawpe for Crawford, or Johnny Damon?

I would do that trade for Crawford in a second. Sexson is headed towards a colossal bust season. Hawpe has been great, but if you need SBs and runs there isn't many better than CC. I wouldn't do it for Damon...the foot issue looks like it's going to be a problem. That one looks better to me as Ray has been a nice surprise.
But if Ray is expendable, I would spin him off for someone else. You should be able to pick up a nice SP for him.

I think the 4 for 2 trade is too much to give up. If you broke those into 2 for 1's-Hawpe and Sexson for Crawford and then Escobar and Ray for an SP, I would think you can do better than Bonderman. If the best you can get is Bonderman, I would hang on to Escobar (I know your goal is to open up the 2spots for your DL players)

But, if you took the pitchers out, would you do the Sexson and Hawpe for Crawford trade? And keep Escobar and Ray for another deal down the road.

I would do the Sexson/Hawpe for CC deal. That is if you need speed.

That's how I would try it, Ray picked up another save today so you should be able to move him, and Escobar.
