I just can't see Andrew Miller falling out of the top 3, nor the top 10 for that matter. One this is for sure, if the Reds draft Stubbs instead of a possible ace like Miller, we have a serious problem.

If they pick Stubbs with Lincecum, Miller, Bard, et al. on the board, the FO will undo a lot of the good-will they have established to date. There will be plenty of decent quality bats available when the Reds pick in the second round. With the ??? surrounding Stubbs' bat, I just cannot see passing up a chance to add to the organization's biggest deficiency.

I'll be ticked off if the Nats take Emmanuel Burriss. He's my boy. Didn't think he'd go as high as 15, though. Good for him.
And I agree, if all of those P's are available and the Reds take Stubbs, I'm calling shenanigans.

Re: Latest MLB Mock - Updated 6/6
I will be disappointed if Stubbs is the choice. No team seems certain that he will hit, although all agree his a great athlete and will provide GG defense in CF. However, if he can't hit all the other stuff becomes moot. Reminds an awful lot of BJ.
BTW, the BP pointed put the college OFs are one of the worst bets in the first round. They theorized it could be because they overvalue athleticism in these players and undervalue the ability to hit. That sure describes Stubbs.

Re: Latest MLB Mock - Updated 6/6
Anything but a college starter in the first round will disappoint me. If we want a college outfielder, Hankerd of So Cal and possibly Gillespie of Oregon State should both be available in the fourth round. Also, Scott Cousins is a good hitting possibility in the fourth or fifth round as a college outfielder.
Hopefully, the Stubbs talk is a smoke screen. |

i will be furious if they pass on those guys for stubbs. i understand his value to our team and to krivsky who likes speed and def, BUT....you can not pass on a possible future ace. especially a left handed 1

BTW, if the Reds pass on Miller they will get what they deserve.

We are going pitcher, there is no way we pass on a 1st round pitching talent.

No way the Reds go for Stubbs pitching is the need and pitching will be the choice.
