Identify this Song - Help

I've been humming this tune for years now...don't remember it well.

Its a silly song about a dog.

"Whenever I hear some barking in the night...I remember my old doggie"
Doggie, Doggiee (Woof, Woof), Doggie, Doggie (Woof, Woof)
I remember my old doggie"'

My kids are giving me grief about this. They say the song doesn't exist. That I'm making it up and that I'm losin' it.

Google the lyrics...Nyet.

Might be a Bobby Goldsboro song or something, but not sure...

My kids are really on my case about this...I need help bad.

REDSZONE knows everything. You're my last hope. HELP!

Well, you're not alone and you're not imagining it because I found this with a google search for "I remember my old doggie":

Quote:
qualcuno ricorda una vecchia canzone che faceva " doggie doggie wof wof
doggie doggie wof wof , I remember my old doggie" ?
which translates to:

Quote:
someone remembers an old song that made “doggie doggie wof wof
doggie doggie wof wof, remember my old the doggie "?
That from Alberto, so either you and Alberto were seperated at birth or it actually exists. Unfortunately there are allegedly seven responses, but I can't find those.

Re: Identify this Song - Help

A little further digging found that it appears to have been record in the mid-70's by an Italian group called Bulldog:

Quote:
Line up:
Giorgio Bertolani (vocals)
Mauro Falzoni (guitar)
Celso Valli (keyboards)
Paride Sforza (sax, clarinet)
Alan Taylor (bass, vocals)
Roberto Poli (drums)

Discography:
LP - Doggy doggy (Blue Jean JBLP 701 - 1975)
LP - Explosive Bulldog (Blue Jean JBLP 702 - 1976)
45 - Doggy doggy/Where did she go (Blue Jean BJ 601 - 1975)
45 - Black Emanuelle/Robin Hood (Blue Jean BJ 602 - 1975)
45 - Candida/In my dreams (Blue Jean BJ 604 - 1976)
45 - A man before your time/Jennifer (Blue Jean BJ 606 - 1976)
45 - Chicken every day/La porta dell'estate (Blue Jean BJ 609 - 1977)
45 - Que sera sera/Morning sun (Blue Jean BJ 615 - 1978)
45 EP - Doggy doggy/ Robin Hood/Chicken every day/Geronimo (Orange RG 505 - 1978)

Including five of the six members of Ping Pong, this group followed their habit of mixing rock and commercial pop songs. They released 2 LP's and many singles, mostly film soundtracks, in the mid 70's.

Sounds like a rather painful condition.

Wow...I think you got it. The timeline is about right.
Now I have to find the lyrics or somewhere I can download the song itself.
The girls are going to want to demand proof.

I think the first Google I did confirmed you weren't making it up. You may have the record for most obscure thing though.

Man, oh man. Makes you wonder how much time (any?) these jokers spent thinking of a "great name" for their music group. Ping Pong and Bulldog? Good lord! I have to give them credit though... going to Bulldog is definitely an upgrade from Ping Pong. I'd take a guess that these guys did not have the normal large-sized ego that many musicians have.... how can anyone in a group called Ping Pong have any sort of ego?
