The unofficial trade Conine or Hatteberg thread
I have nothing personal against either of these players. They are both serviceable, old, reserve first baseman . However , we need more out of the first base position and Joey Votto is the future starter at first base. We can keep one of them on the team , but we don't need two reserve first basemen. Wayne needs to look into trading one of them, and call Votto up now. It is time to start getting Joey Votto some playing time, and nothing is served by having two old reserve first baseman on the team.

Re: The unofficial trade Conine or Hatteberg thread
In case anyone missed it, this season is lost. HOWEVER, it will be doubly lost if we don't take the time to evaluate Votto, Dumatrait and some others to see what we really have for next year.
Send Hatte to the Yankees for prospect(s) and bring Votto in as the leftie 1B. |

Re: The unofficial trade Conine or Hatteberg thread
As we already have the "Hatteberg trade rumor thread" http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59727, do we really need an unofficial trade Sceff Coberg thread? An official one would work better. We could get sponsorships deals, promotional tie-ins, etc.

Re: The unofficial trade Conine or Hatteberg thread
Give me MORE Lefties - I don't buy this "don't want to have bad match-ups in the late innings". There aren't enough LH SP's worth worrying about in the MLB, and most lefty batters CRUSH righties, especially ours.
Yeah, it would REALLY SUCK to have Griffey, Dunn, Votto, and Josh Hamilton coming up - they all suck against Left Hand hitting. I'm sure Castro and Freel are GREAT Late-game pressure hitters, along with Hopper. Better it be Griff, Freel, Dunn, Castro, Votto, Ross, and and the Pitcher... that way they HAVE to bring in a Righty to face Freel and Castro !! Oh yeah - AND WORRY MORE about who WE"RE Sending out in the 7th/8th/9th inning!!!! I think that has just a BIT more to do with our Late-Inning MELTDOWNS!!!! PEACE -BLEEDS |

Re: The unofficial trade Conine or Hatteberg thread
There was a thread about Hatteberg not being traded to the Yankees- I didn't think it was relevant to my thread. I would keep one of them around-you need a backup in case Votto gets injured. It doesn't matter to me which one gets traded
