Should I Accept? (I'm Thinking Yes)

12-team 10x10 league

Do I have the pitching depth to accept this trade?

I receive:
Albert Pujols

He receives:
Carlos Delgado
Carlos Zambrano

It gives me this lineup:
C V. Martinez
1B A. Pujols
2B J. Lugo
3B R. Braun/T. Glaus
SS J. Rollins
OF A. Jones
OF A. Dunn
OF Ichiro
UT J. Bay
BN J. Saltalamacchia
DL C. Utley

And leaves me with these pitchers:
Starters:
R. Hill
C. Hamels
T. Lincecum
J. Maine
Y. Gallardo

Relievers:
J. Putz
M. Rivera
K-Rod
H. Street

I think it'd be a good trade for you, and I think you have the pitching depth to pull it off. Most of the time, in the 2nd half, matchups (pitcher vs team) are the way to go. Hill, Hamels and Maine are good starters. Lincecum and Gallardo will likely be erratic at times, but very useful in others. If they go on a bad stretch, go to the waiver wire and pick up someone with a good matchup and you should be fine. I'd do it.

Thank you for your input. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense (especially since the league counts IBB). I'm the only team with a .600+ winning percentage, so hopefully I'll be able to run away with the title after this trade.

Are you in a private league or a public league?

Just curious. You have a really good team, and I have had better luck with teams in private leagues than in public leagues.

Re: Should I Accept? (I'm Thinking Yes)

Yeah, it's a private league with a bunch of Cincinnati guys I know. I was one of the few people who wasn't able to show up for the live draft (and the only person I have remaining from the draft is Utley). I got so many good players by trading with the teams that started badly. They were in desperate need of depth, and all I wanted were the big names who consistently produce. Quantitatively, I've "lost" almost all of my trades, but thanks to all the waiver wire and free agent pickups, I've consistently been able to trade two-to-four good players for one great player.

That's one of the best parts of fantasy baseball. Getting a guy off the waiver wire before he hits a hot streak like Ryan Braun (well, in his case, it's s half-season hot streak). I'm in 4 leagues but still have not made a single trade all year, so in a way, I'm a little envious of your trading prowess.
