Re: Clay Buchholz has something special going through 8 innings in Boston

Had he done this a week or two ago, he would have been sent down regardless. That's why he waited until tonight.

I'm pulling for him, but if I had a dollar for every time someone lost one of these in the ninth...

I just know one of our stat heads is going to tell me just how much money I'd have...

You would have three dollars this year alone.

Curt Schilling lost a no-hitter on June 7th against Oakland with two outs in the 9th on a single.

Dustin McGowan lost a no-hitter to lead off the 9th on June 24th.

And last night Scott Baker lost a perfect game to leadoff the 9th and then lost the no-hitter with one out in the 9th.

I was at Yankee Stadium on Thursday and watched Wang take his no hitter into the 7th inning. It's the closest I have come to seeing a no hitter and man its something fun to watch.

Chip, I'll vouch that CBS Sportsline already had an article up after he finished the visiting half of the eighth.

I just hope that if he loses the no-hitter that they at least let him finish it. They are up 10-0, he'd have to implode to lose that lead.

Congrats to the Orioles. Give up 30 runs for the first time in a century and not much later get no-hit by a rookie in his second career start. What a season!

I would have put my money on this happening for a rookie like Phil Dumatrait or Tom Shearn. Clay Buchholz? :

What is he, 14? What a baby face. That's Bronson's number, isn't it?
