Man!

Damn, look at thisCareer Minor Stats)

Homer Bailey(21 years old):
317.2 IP, 3.43 ERA, 347 K's, 1.26 WHIP

Johnny Cueto(21 years old):
348.1 IP, 3.28 ERA, 358 K's, 1.10 WHIP

Edinson Volquez(24 years old):
547 IP, 3.72 ERA, 560 K's, 1.20 WHIP

Matt Maloney(23 years old):
376.1 IP, 2.97 ERA, 393 K's, 1.18 WHIP

Man, that is a awesome group of young pitchers. The only thing that concerns me with Maloney is that he gives up his fair share of homers.

Volquez in my mind is a high risk, high reward guy just like Hamilton is. Volquez has the stuff to be a #1 or #2 but he could also turn into a Daniel Cabrera.

Hopefully Wayne decides to keep these guys around and build a team with these young pitchers as well as Harang.

Re: Man!

All we need is LEAGUE AVERAGE INNINGS and lots of them...

Re: Man!

I don't think Maloney's stuff, including his rather soft fastball, serve him well for the majors. IMO, he could bring in a solid BOR type in a trade, more dependable than the Livan Hernandez or Jon Lieber's of the world would be.

Re: Man!

Maloney and Perhaps Wood at the back end of Bailey, Volquez and Cueto could easily end up being one of if not the best rotation in baseball in 3-4 yrs time. I don't expect them all to pan out but if they did, it would be like a whole new BRM!
