Question for Firefox users

I'm using Firefox to keep tabs (no pun intended) on freight load boards when I'm sitting and looking for a load. Most of these boards refresh every so often and you see the new loads that have come in, or you can manually refresh when you want to. I lost a load earlier today because when the board refreshed I saw a load that wasn't there before and when I went to put a bid, the load was already booked. The only way that could have happened is if someone else refreshed at a different time and saw the load before I did. Now here's my question. Is there a way to set Firefox to refresh more often so I don't have to manually refresh each page? I keep four or five load boards open at a time on different tabs and it's rather tedious to keep going back and forth refreshing them faster so I don't miss anything. I know there's a geek on here somewhere who might know the answer.

Re: Question for Firefox users

That sounds to me like an option that would be chosen at the website, not through firefox. Is there a refresh rate variable available on your particular website?

The site I was thinking of doesn't have a way to set that. Some of them refresh faster than others, but I was hoping there was a way to set the browser to refresh faster. I've missed a couple loads because I didn't see them fast enough.

Re: Question for Firefox users

I use the Firefox add-on Tab Mix Plus which adds a "Reload Every..." feature to each browser tab that will automatically reload the content on that tab's page at specific time intervals.

Roy's link will point you to other Firefox add-ons that do the same job.

I am honestly stunned at all the functionality available in Firefox add ons. The Bazaar has kicked the cathedral to the curb.

Re: Question for Firefox users

I installed that reload every feature and now all my load boards are refreshing every 15 seconds. I'm not missing any new loads. I lost out on a $1000 load today. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Re: Question for Firefox users

Opera browser has the refresh every "#" seconds functionality built right in. I use Firefox on my pc, but use Opera at work since the IT department blocks some traffic in IE and frowns upon Firefox (for no good reason). It's a quick and good looking browser. It can't replace Firefox for me but it's much better than IE.

Anything's better than IE. I honestly wasn't too disappointed when they stopped making it for the Mac.
