But seriously, he's not that old. He's 24 years old and in A-ball and should be seeing Sarasota or Chattanooga some time soon. Someone a while back said he throws in the low 90's with a plus changeup. If that's the case then he is absolutely a legit prospect. His numbers are incredible. He's got an amazing 0.72 ERA in 49.2 innings between Sarasota and Chattanooga and has allowed only 23 hits with a 15 BB/61 K ratio. He may get a shot at making the Reds 25-man roster out of spring training at the rate he's going.

Doug Jones had a poor fastball and a plus plus changeup; Trevor Hoffman had a better fastball and a great changeup.

but Geronimo is much less hittable than Todd Coffey so far. That's certainly in his favor

actually, I think that someone quoted an article in Reds Report, which is where I learned that Ed Taubensee was a good defensive catcher

This guy deserves a shot.

Old or not, bad velocity or not, his peripherals suggest he's worth taking a look at.
