Great site for music, apparently legal

http://www.seeqpod.com

I just found this link on another forum and I thought I'd share it with my fellow Redszoners, since all the music is hosted offsite it's apparently legal.

I'm listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (and loving it)

Edit: It's also a great way to find new stuff you might like, click "Discoveries" after a few searches and it will find stuff based on what you've searched for.

Re: Great site for music, apparently legal

The legality is a debatable point (and the subject of a current lawsuit -- I have no idea how it's going to turn out). Really, there's not much in a moral sense to distinguish Seeqpod from the original Napster. Napster didn't host illegal files either, but its business was based on helping you find them. Seeqpod has a better chance because there's specific language in the federal Digital Millenium Copyright Act pertaining to search engines. The fact that the site provides a player for those largely-pirated files tells me what I need to know about its ethical concern for copyrights, but the law says what it says.

I originally thought the difference was that you couldn't download these songs, but it turns out you can.

Mods feel free to close this thread, enjoy the music while you can.
