Cincinnati DTV Channels

I just bought a new tv for my bedroom. It's a 19 inch HDTV. I'm very new to the digital channels, so I have a couple questions:

1. Does Fox19 have a digital/hd channel in Cincinnati?

2. Is digital similar to analog in the sense that some channels come in better? I have a few channels that don't work all the time, and was wondering if that was the case.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not in Cincinnati, but since I get my HD over the air, I can answer that one. With digital TV, you either get a signal or you don't. It's like falling off a cliff. The stations you receive poorly on analog will either be a lot better or you won't get them at all. As far as not getting them to "work all the time" depending on the day, you may have the same issues with digital. The best cure is a better antenna (either a higher-quality set-top antenna or an outdoor antenna), a pre-amp for the antenna or both.

Thanks. I have an antenna on the roof, and I might make it a Sunday project to move the wire to my room.

Radio Shack makes a great HD antennae. I think they're under $50. I picked one up recently while I was in Galveston for a few weeks and watched the World Series and playoffs with it. I was surprised how many local HD and digital channels it brought in perfectly.

Is this the same thing as the digital converter we're going to need to go to? My wife and I are looking into these with the $40 credit coupons.

No, it's not a converter. Just an antenna. If you're in an area with high def stations broadcasting, it will pick them up just like you were watching cable.
