Zach Duke
According to www.mlbtraderumors.com he is available, along with the rest of the Pirates.
What would you give up to get him? Keep in mind he is a 26 year old lefty with a career 4.21 ERA (3.38 this season) and 5 years of ML experience under his belt. He could be a solid replacement if Harang is dealt. He makes $2.2MM this year and is under team control through 2011. Would you trade Yonder Alonso? I would consider it, especially if we could get a great young LF or SS in a deal for Harang or Arroyo. The Pirates probably would ask for Alonso, especially after trading Adam LaRoche today. I would try to get Snell in the same package if possible. Getting Snell and Duke, coupled with Stewart's continued success, would give the Reds the ultimate flexibility to move Arroyo and Harang in the offseason, if not at the deadline. Cueto Duke Volquez Bailey Owings/Snell/Stewart for the next 2.5 years? Sign me up.
