Go Reds.

Gomes should be in lineup. Dusty just can't bring himself to play the best players.

He isn't going to sit Nix after 2 HR's last night. Balentien should start every night between now and the last game of the year. Frankly I don't care who starts in the 3rd outfield spot from this point forward (until Bruce gets back that is) as long as Stubbs is in CF and Balentien is in one of the corners. Glad to see Wlad out there tonight.

Respectfully disagree about Balentien. I want to win every game=play the best players.

At this point in the season, why do you want to win every night more than getting needed playing time for someone who will be here next year?

Gameday's got Wells' fastballs at 95, 94. Can that be right?

They said during either pregame or right before the game started that he hit that speed when he pitched in Pittsburgh so it could be right. I'll be happy if the guy can get through about four or five innings tonight somehow. After the win last night, I'm pretty indifferent about the game tonight. Well, that or I'm just still too wiped out from not sleeping well last night thanks to my adrenaline running a 100 miles an hour after that ninth inning mess.

Can't ever be indifferent. Got to want to win 162 times a year.

I'd be more enthusiastic with more than about four hours of sleep, LOL

Nice throw by Corky!

Re: 8/26/09 Reds vs Brewers

Last time I saw Wells he stayed around 93 or 94 all night. His velocity and stuff have always been good. It's what's between the ears that is the problem. He used to drive Dave Duncan crazy.

Man, Nix is really trying to make a case to stick around for next year.
