Cubs
Cardinals
Reds
Astros
Brewers
Pirates

The Cubs run away with it. Phenomenal young pitching+resurgent Alou with Sosa+Dusty Baker... propels Cubs to 95 wins.

I don't buy Houston at all. Their line up is quickly becoming the D'Backs of the Nl Central WITHOUT the depth as backups that the D'Backs have had.

Houston line up is getting long in the tooth, and I can see several serious break downs as the season goes along. Biggio, Bagwell, Kent abd even Ausmus (who has a history of injury) are all on the other side of the peak of their careers. I know they are all still very good players, but at some point, age may make the wear and tear of a long schedule an issue.

I might be wrong about this, I just think it is not a good aspect of a team you want to crown "the team to beat."

i agree 100% w/ those predictions

just like you said, if our offense stays healthy and our starting pitching is decent we could have a good year

NL Central Predictions

Here are mine and reasons why:

1. Houston: They look nasty this year. The pitching and hitting
will both be among league leaders. Their division to
lose in my opinion.
2. Cincinnati: If the starting pitching lives up to its potential, then
the hitting and defense will follow. Could be good
year.
3. St. Louis: Pitching could be a problem. Offense is good though
4. Chicago: Could be higher, could be lower. Too inconsistant
5. Pittsburgh: Could make some noise. Better than we might
think
6. Milwaukee: Will be around 100 losses again.

Reds could surprise some people this year. It is the same old story. If the pitching is ok and Junior stays healthy, we will be looking pretty good.
