Curious about scouting

I didn't really pay attention to this last summer, but how has the switch to BBCOR bats in the NCAA impacted Major League scouting? I saw that the NFHS followed suit this season, so basically almost all high schools and NCAA colleges are now using the new bat standards.

Am I safe in assuming, given the drastic impact this has had on NCAA run scoring, that scouts have been able to project power much easier?

Re: Curious about scouting

I know that scouts certainly like it, but it is far too early to tell if it has had any influence on their ability to project power. None of the guys having used these bats are even 25 yet.

Re: Curious about scouting

I did see a story the other day that MLB is looking to form a partnership with the NCAA to sponsor extra scholarships and potentially supplement the cost of going to wooden bats. That would be tremendous if that happens.

Agreed, big time.
