Donald "Duck" Dunn died

Just rolling through the obits on the Times and I came across a couple that I'd not heard about. One was a theologian that a number of folks I know spoke about, but the one that I thought was pertinent to her was that Donald "Duck" Dunn died while on tour in Japan about a week & a half ago.

Dunn was a member of a band called the Mar-Keys and started doing studio work at Stax Records with his childhood friend Steve Cropper. They both ultimately joined with Booker T. and the MG's. Both also were the band for the Blues Brothers movies.

Dunn was a magnificent player, the MGs also backed Neil Young on a tour in 93 (or so) easily the grooviest band Neil ever played with.

One of my favorites; he sure could walk a mean line.

RIP.

Agreed. A real legend. And he had a great line in The Blues Brothers.
