Monday 6/25/2012 Minor-League Updates

Sharky Rogers working the matinee today for Bakersfield. Hamilton walked and was caught stealing in the first. Visalia just got cocky.

Figures that after scoring 9 runs in the ninth last night, the Blaze are hitless through three. 0-0.

In the top of the 7th, the Blaze tie the game at 4.

Hamilton is now 1-3 with that BB and his 91st SB.

The Wahoos now trail 3-2 in the eighth. In five innings, Sulbaran gave up 2 hits, walked 8 and struck out 7.

The Bats won their eighth straight in spite of the first three guys in the lineup going 0-13. Cody Puckett, who has been swinging great, homered. So did Felix Perez, who was 3-4. Miguel Rojas was also 3-4 with a 2B. Jordan Smith, who has been on something of a roll, had a 4-out save.

Among guys with at least 75 plate appearances, Janish is second among Reds minor leaguers (behind Donald Lutz) in OPS.

I hope he keeps it up. I'd like to see him back on the ballclub, and I suspect he's playing his way onto the 2013 roster right now.

Dayton got thumped, 8-3. Ryan Wright was 3-4 with a couple doubles, raising his average to .300. Only El'Hajj Muhammad pitched well.

Robert Maddox, playing below his level (after all, he was second in the Pioneer League in home runs last year), drove in two runs with a single, and Billings leads 2-1 in the second. Ismael Guillon has the ball.

Pensacola 2 runs on 10 hits. Chattanooga 3 runs on 3 hits. Baseball can be a funny game
