Frazier did scuffle a bit yesterday at 0-5 with 3 K's. Really, with the Reds 21 games over .500 I'm willing to give Dusty any benefit of the doubt.

Probably wants to keep Frazier away from Volquez who has nasty stuff and little control. Dusty wants the vet against V. That's my guess, not endorsing it.

I never saw a reason for the arm wrap Frazier's been wearing. Did he get beaned recently, and I missed it?

Maybe it's to cover up a Padres tat? Thus the benching?

Re: 7/30/12 - Reds vs Padres

If the Reds were out of contention, as an experiment I'd love to see the results of them going up to the plate and not lifting the bat off their shoulders with EV on the mound.

On a related note, I'd also like to see Josh Hamilton flip a coin before each AB...if he miscalls it, he does not swing that AB. That might be enough to make pitchers start pitching him more honest.

Just freestyle thoughts off the top of my mind...don't hold it against me.

Amarista flies out to left
Venable K's
Headley singles past a diving BP
Quentin grounds out to Leake
