Want to diasable timeline on FB?
No sweat if you use firefox as your browser.... there's an extension that makes it "go away":

I really like timeline. Not sure why all the hate, except it's like every change FB made that everyone ended up liking after 2 weeks.

I still hate that I have to filter 'most popular' and 'most recent' posts. I could care less about what is most popular, I already saw it. Stop making me change it. Jerks.

Re: Want to diasable timeline on FB?
It's a competition to see who Facebook can upset more: the users or the people that purchased the IPO.

Off topic, but is there a way to block Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and Barack Obama on FB? Everytime someone likes them a giant picture of one of those doofuses shows up in my feed.

I think you need to turn some friends into "acquaintances".

Re: Want to diasable timeline on FB?
After initially disliking the idea of Timeline I've warmed to it a bit. I still wish I could make the privacy settings more restrictive but c'est la vie.

Re: Want to diasable timeline on FB?
I guess people use Facebook in different ways. For me, I didn't see what the fuss was all about; I set a cool cover photo and forgot about it. (It also helps that I never post anything I might feel compelled to hide later.) But then, I have the notifications set up, so I never had to check my own wall to see if anything new was on it.

Re: Want to diasable timeline on FB?
I read this in a recent article about FB and I largely agree:
Quote:
It started off as fun as old faces reemerged from the past with little effort but it quickly got boring and annoying. I guess after the newness wore off, it's been a battle of being more trouble than useful. I think FB gets more out of me being on FB than I get out of it and there are some real troubling aspects about privacy and security that I'm old enough to find scary and invasive.
