In retrospect, how good was Latos season in 2012?

Looking back on his numbers..14-4, with a 3.48 ERA.

Plus a hella of alot no decisions, and an inflated april and may where he was just downright horrible.

Still, nearly ace like numbers. So glad we traded for him, Walt is a genius imo.

Now, if Latos can be a bit more consistent in the early few months, than I have no doubt he could reach the 20 win plateau. Hell, I bet he could win Cy Young as well one day. Only 24, with tons of talent. Great pick up!

Latos was exactly as advertised. His 2012 was almost identical to his 2011, even with the Petco-to-GABP switch.

He's the kind of difference-making power pitcher the Reds had been lacking for the last decade. Extending him should be a priority.

There were a couple games in the first two months of the season in which he got hit hard but our offense picked him up, but other than that he was outstanding. I thought for sure Johnny Cueto was the ace of this staff, but now I'm not so sure. Latos didn't miss a single start and wound up with a 3.48 ERA and only four losses for the entire season, while pitching in the most homer-friendly park in the league. That is bigtime stuff. Then consider he's only 24 years old. Wow.

Exactly on par with his career. Slow start and Cy Young caliber pitching the rest of the way. If he could find a way to come out of the gates faster, he's a star

He was excellent. Way better than I expected. Hopefully he can start off on a good note next year and finish the same way he did last year.

cut out April and he's 13-2 with a 3.09 ERA. despite the rocky start, which he has struggled with through out his career, he did pretty well. a great 1-2 punch in the rotation with Cueto
