Jordan Smith
I haven't seen any "prospect updates" on this player yet. But the 6th rounder has gotten off to a good start at Billings. The 6' 4" right hander is 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA, pitched in 30.2 innings given up 22 hits, 8 runs 6 earned, while striking out 23 and walking only 4. His WHIP is 0.85. I think this is another one to keep our eye on.

Re: Jordan Smith
He seems to compare favorably to fellow Reds prospect Zach Ward in terms of possessing a power arm and a great sinking fastball. 12 of his 16 outs last night were via the groundball, one on a flyout and the other three on strikeouts. Smith seems to be ready for a promotion to Dayton. Send Ward to Sarasota or Chattanooga and replace him at Dayton with Jordan Smith.

Re: Jordan Smith
On draft day, the BA writer who broke down the first half of the Reds picks said he believed Smith would be a reliever.
