Minor League Top Prospects
In another thread someone brought up the question of if you had 5 picks of the entire Minor Leagues, who would you take for the future of your baseball team. I thought it might be a fun little topic to start on its on and see who some of you guys would take, in order if you had 10 picks, 5 pitchers and 5 position players, who would they be and in what order?

Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Positional players
1. Delmon Young - OF 2. Brandon Wood - SS/2B 3. Justin Upton - OF 4. Jay Bruce - OF 5. Cameron Maybin - OF Pitchers 1. Homer Bailey 2. Philip Hughes 3. Matt Garza 4. Yovani Gollardo 5. Kyle Drabek Now I know I took a big leap of faith with Drabek, but after seeing him pitch, he has absolutely disgusting stuff, he has the pedigree and I just like what he brings to the table. He hasnt been overly impressive like some other pitchers drafted this year, but thats ok. I like his upside.

Re: Minor League Top Prospects
I didn't go for the highest ceiling guys (ie. Upton, Young, Maybin), I chose players that have good ceilings and have proven themselves.

Re: Minor League Top Prospects
Arms:
1) Bailey 2) Hughes 3) Garza 4) Hirsh 5) Hochevar Bats: 1) Wood 2) Gordon 3) Longoria 4) Bruce 5) Maybin No Young b/c he might end up killing an ump one day. No Butler b/c he might be a DH. No Upton(s) b/c Justin isn't doing much and BJ has attitude probs and fielding issues. Though I might have a 'tude if I was still in the minors and I was him. Bruce over Maybin...Cincy pride, baby. Tabata got some votes, but I have a hard time believing he's that young. Adenhart has injury questions. Not that I wouldn't mind having those guys, just giving some color on my decisions. |
